Situated on the edge of the lake, with stunning views in all directions, the Café at Roadford Lake is the perfect place for casual dining, catching up with friends or treating the family.

Serving home cooked, local produce seven days a week, we pride ourselves on providing delicious, high quality food. Whether it’s brunch, lunch or coffee and cake, we have it covered. Our menu is complimented by a range of specials every day.

Managed by South West Lakes Trust, we also have a keen eye on protecting our environment, whether that be reducing the use of plastic, keeping food miles low or simply recycling as much as possible. We try our best not to use disposables but when we do you can be sure that everything is fully compostable and we even use that compost to grow our own herbs.

Gift Shop

Our gift shop, situated within the café, offers a variety of gifts, local produce, home and garden ware. We have something for everyone, whether it be a cuddly toy for the little one in your life, a new scarf for mum or a lovely Hogs Bottom chutney to go with dad’s favourite cheese.

We also stock a range of greetings cards and stationery, perfect for those “last minute” shoppers (you know who you are).

Our aim is to be as environmentally friendly as possible within our gift shop and you will find all manner of items to help you improve your green credentials at home, whether it be a bee house, a bird feeder or an item from one of our favourite suppliers, Weaver Green, who make textiles here in Devon from 100% recycled plastic bottles.

Come and see for yourself, you’ll be surprised at what you might find.

    Breaking Your Journey?

Are you travelling through Devon and Cornwall? Roadford Lake is the perfect pit stop for those achy legs, restless paws or hungry children. Stretch your legs, grab a coffee, let the children explore the play area and you could even let the dogs burn some energy in our dog activity area. They are welcome in the café too.

    Place to Meet

Need a space to get some work done or meet a potential client? We offer free WiFi, strong coffee and plenty of fresh air to clear your mind. If it all gets too stressful, we know that cake always helps too!

    Our Meeting Rooms

    Dietary Requirements

We cater for all types of dietary needs. We have options for everyone which we change on a regular basis, so you’ll never get bored of what we have to offer.

We can generally cater for most requirements without prior notice, however, if you feel that you have more specific needs then please feel free to contact us in advance.

    Four Legged Friends

We know that dogs love a Roadford Lake walk and hate sitting in cars, that’s why we allow dogs in our café all year round. All we ask is that owners keep their dogs on a lead and under control at all times.

    PLastic Free Journey

We are committed to reducing the use of single use plastic in our café to zero by 2020. Already we have stopped selling water in plastic bottles, ceased using plastic sauce portions and we now serve takeaway food and drink in compostable disposable ware. Find out more about our plastic free journey below.

    Play Area

Children can enjoy the play area located close to the café or simply let off steam in the grounds, while parents enjoy a drink and relax at one of the benches provided.
